Built in 1885, this exquisite hotel is known locally as the homestead of Sir James and Lady Wattie. It has been carefully renovated throughout yet maintains its historical look and charm.
The hotel offers twelve magnificent guest suites, individually decorated with thoughtful attention to personal comfort and detail. With peaceful views of the garden with its mature trees and manicured flowerbeds, all our suites have an en-suite bathroom with shower and bath, are air-conditioned and have Sky television, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, free broadband and luxury robe and slippers.
The accommodation is offered in the following four categories; The Mangapapa Suite, Executive Suites, Deluxe Suites and Executive Rooms.
The Mangapapa Suite is situated next to the homestead in an upstairs apartment. Executive Suites can be found in the historic homestead or in the Lady Wattie building. Deluxe Suites are slightly smaller and are located in the mews adjacent to the main homestead. The Executive Rooms are in the homestead.
Mangapapa's restaurant serves a Degustation menu seven days a week. With a choice of 6 or 9 courses, with or without matching wines, we guarantee a memorable and complete dining experience. The Menu changes daily to utilise the stunning fresh produce of the kitchen garden and local suppliers.
For lunch order a delicious Mangapapa Platter to savour anywhere within the Mangapapa grounds. The Conservatory is available for those who would rather eat indoors; a bright and sunny spot even in the winter when the roaring fire will keep you warm.
Together with the pool, spa retreat, tennis court, three-hole golf course and fully equipped conference facilities, this sophisticated homestead offers the ultimate experience.
